Here below follows a list of
organized coach tours on the mainland Greece:
ATHENS CITY TOUR (daily)
The tour departs at 09:15 for Panathinaiko Stadium, where the first
contemporary Olympic Games took place in 1896 (visit). Before reaching the
Acropolis (visit), the bus
passes by most major sights, monuments and museums in Athens including the
Museum of Cycladic Art, the Byzantine Museum, the National Gallery, Zappion
Garden, Temple of Zeus, Adrian's Arch, St. Paul’s Church, the Parliament with
the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Catholic Cathedral, the University, the
National Library and many other (return around 13:00).
CAPE
SOUNION (daily)
Departure: 14:00 Return: 19:00 The tour's focal point is the Temple of
Poseidon. The bus follows the coastal road to
Cape Sounion and passes
through some of the best suburbs in Athens
HIGHLIGHTS OF ATHENS (daily)
The tour begins at 20:30 with a visit to Piraeus (the main port of
Greece), Marina Zeas (one of the busiest yacht harbors) and
Microlimano (a smaller, picturesque yacht and fishing boat harbor).
Afterwards, the party returns to Athens and proceed to a popular Greek
Taverna in Plaka for dinner with live bouzouki music and a Greek floor-show.
Drinks at the Taverna are not included in the price (return around midnight).
ANCIENT CORINTH (from April until October, every Monday
and Friday)
Departure: 8:15 Return: approx. 13:30 Driving along the scenic west
coast of Attica, after a short stop at the Corinth Canal with its
breathtaking views, the tour reaches the ancient town of Corinth (visit),
where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. Back in the ancient times,
Corinth was amongst the richest cities and this is quite evident by its remains,
including the huge Agora and Apollo’s Temple (6th c. BC). Brief stop at the site
of the ancient port of Kechreae where St. Paul disembarked. Return to
Athens in time for lunch.
ANCIENT CORINTH & WINE TASTING (from April until October,
every Friday)
Leaving Athens at 8:30am, driving along the coastal road, we reach Corinth
canal (short stop). Drive to the Ancient Corinth where St. Paul lived and
preached. Ancient Corinth was one of the most important cities of ancient
Greece. Visit the Agora and one of the most outstanding monuments of pre–Roman
period, the temple of Apollo. Then, we will continue to visit one of the most
famous vineries of Nemea. We will learn everything for the production of Greek
quality red wine and then we will proceed to the underground cellars with more
than 1000 French oak barriques. Finally we will taste some of the best wines of
the domain.
Departure: 08:15 Return: 19:00 The cruise boat stops at three islands
of the Saronic Gulf: Aegina, which is famous for its peanuts and the
beautiful temple of Athina Afaia (optional tour); Hydra, the beloved
island of all painters, with its beautiful houses, all in pastel colors, perched
up on the rocks, and its long history - it played a leading role during the War
of Independence; Poros, a pretty little island that has also contributed
a lot in the liberation.
ONE DAY DELPHI (April - October: daily November
- March: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday)
Departure: 08:30 Return: 18:30 The tour includes a detailed visit of
the site, the museum and the Oracle of Apollo in
Delphi, the centre of the
world in the antiquity. On the way to Delphi, the bus makes a short stop at
Livadia, a small town. On the way back another stop is made in the village of
Arachova, a very pretty village on the slopes of the mountain.
ONE DAY ARGOLIS: MYCENAE & EPIDAURUS (April - October:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday November - March:
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
Departure: 08:30 Return: 19:00 The tour places emphasis on two sites:
Mycenae, the kingdom of the
doomed family of the Atrides, and
Epidaurus, this astonishing
theatre with the 15.000 seats, the acoustics of which no modern theatre has
managed to replicate. On the way, a short stop is made at the Corinthian Canal;
the lunch break takes place in Nauplion, one of the most charming towns
in the Peloponnesus, which is gradually being restored to its past glory.
TWO DAY DELPHI (April - October: Daily)
Departure: 08:30 Return: 19:00 on the second day
- Leave Athens at 8:30AM, via the National highway, passing Thebes, Livadia
(short stop), Arachova. The tour continues with a detailed visit of the site,
the museum and the Oracle of Apollo in
Delphi, the centre of the
world in the antiquity. Afternoon free. Overnight in Delphi.
- On the second day you have the morning free to explore the village or go
back to the site for a second visit. After lunch, departure to Athens. On the
way back a short stop is made at the village of Arachova, a very pretty
village on the slopes of the mountain.
TWO DAY ARGOLIS: MYCENAE & EPIDAURUS (from April until
October, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)
Departure: 08:30 Return: 19:00 on the second day Participants in this
tour will have an afternoon and a morning free in order to see more of the
picturesque town of Nafplion that the Venetians called “Naples of Greece”.
- 1st day: The bus takes the new highway to Corinth. After a short stop at the
Corinth Canal, the bus
proceeds to Mycenae, where an
extensive visit of the site and museum is scheduled. The bus reaches the first
capital of liberated Greece, Nafplion, on time for lunch. The afternoon
is free.
- 2nd day: You have the morning to explore the beautiful town with the many
monuments, including the Palamidi Castle, the Ancient Gate of the town, the
small museum and the beautifully preserved buildings. After lunch you will visit
Epidaurus, the world famous
theatre with the outstanding acoustics. In the afternoon the bus brings you back
to Athens.
TWO DAY METEORA MONASTERIES (April - October 2008: Monday,
Wednesday and Thursday and on the following Saturdays: Apr. 5, 12 & 19, May 10,
17 & 24, Jun. 7, 14 & 28, Jul. 12 & 26, Aug. 9 & 23, Sep. 6, 20 & 27 and Oct. 4
& 18 November - March: Wednesday)
Departure: 08:30 Return: 19:00 on the second day
- 1st day: Depart at 08:15. Transfer to renowned
Delphi. Two hours at leisure to
stroll in the picturesque village, enjoy the breathtaking scenery from the
slopes of Mount Parnassus till Itea, take pictures and enjoy a “Greek Coffee”.
Depart for Kalambaka, passing through picturesque villages and towns of Central
Greece. Dinner and overnight.
- 2nd day: Visit Meteora and
enjoy a unique and most impressive scenery with ageless Monasteries, containing
priceless historical and religious treasures, standing between Earth and Sky
atop huge rocks. Return to Athens (approx. 18:30) via Trikala, Lamia,
Thermopylae (visit the Leonida’s Monument) and Kammena Vourla. N.B. Visits
to the Archaeological site and the Museum in Delphi are not included.
THREE DAY DELPHI & METEORA (April - October 2008: Sunday,
Tuesday, Wednesday and on the following Fridays: Apr. 4, 11 & 18, May 9, 16 &

Departure: 08:30 Return: 19:00 on the third day
- 1st day: Leave Athens at 8.30am, via the new National highway for
Delphi, passing by Thebes,
Livadia (short stop) and Arachova. Visit the Museum of Delphi with the
unique statue of the Charioteer and the Sanctuary of Apollo. Afternoon free.
Overnight in Delphi.
- 2nd day: Morning free in Delphi. Drive through Central Greece and the town
of Lamia, to Kalambaka (Meteora). Overnight in Kalambaka.
- 3rd day: Leave in the morning for nearby
Meteora to visit the Byzantine
Monasteries. On the way to Athens visit the monument of Leonidas at
Thermopylae.
THREE DAY CLASSICAL TOUR (April - October 2008: Monday,

scenic highway (short stop). Drive to Epidaurus (visit of the archaeological
site and the Theatre of
Epidaurus, famous for its acoustics) and then on to Nafplion (short
stop). Drive to Mycenae where
you visit the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon, then depart for
Olympia through central Peloponnese area passing the cities of Megalopolis and
Tripolis. Dinner and overnight in Olympia.
- 2nd day: In the morning visit of the archaeological site of
Olympia with the Sanctuary of
Olympios Zeus. Departure from Olympia via Patras to Rion, cross the Corinthian
bay on the new bridge to Antirion. Drive through Nafpaktos, via the scenic new
road along the coast, to Delphi. Dinner and overnight in Delphi.
- 3rd day: In the morning visit of the archaeological site and the museum of
Delphi. Return to Athens via
Arachova, Levadia and Thebes.
THREE DAY NORTHERN GREECE TOUR (on On May 19, June 16,
September 8 & 22 and on October 6)
Departure: 8:30 Return: 19:00 on the third day
- 1st day: Transfer from your Athens hotel to the airport for your early
morning flight (airfare not included) to Thessaloniki. On arrival,
transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the most interesting museum of
Thessaloniki and sightseeing of the city. Dinner and overnight.
- 2nd day: Morning drive to Pella, Alexander’s the Great capital
(visit). Continue to Vergina to visit the tomb of the King Philip and the
famous “Vergina Treasures”. Then on to Lefkadia where you visit the
excavations. Return to Thessaloniki via Veria. Dinner and overnight.
- 3rd day: Start the return drive to Athens, through the Tempi Valley,
Larissa, Lamia, Thermopylae famous for the ancient battle that took place
there (visit), Kamena Vourla, Athens.
FOUR DAY CLASSICAL TOUR (April - October: Monday)
- Day 1: Leave Athens at 8.30
a.m. We continue for the Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive to
Epidaurus (visit of the
archaeological site and the Theatre of Epidaurus, famous for its acoustics) and
then on to Nafplion, where you have the afternoon free to explore this charming
old town or visit the new gallery with paintings dedicated to the Greek
revolution. Dinner and overnight in Nauplion.
- Day 2: Departure around 12:30
to visit Mycenae, the kingdom
of the Atrides family, where you will see among other things the vaulted tomb of
Agamemnon. Then we will proceed to Olympia, driving through Tripolis and
Megalopolis (short stop). Dinner and overnight in Olympia.
- Day 3: In the morning of the
archaeological site of Olympia,
including the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic
flame, the Stadium and the renovated museum. Departure from Olympia via Patras
(short stop) to Rion, cross the Corinthian bay over the new bridge to Antirion.
Drive by Nafpaktos, along the coastal road to
Delphi. In the afternoon, visit
the picturesque but also quite cosmopolitan village of Arahova. Dinner and
overnight in Delphi.
- Day 4: In the morning visit of
the archaeological site and museum in Delphi, and in the early afternoon drive
back to Athens.
FOUR DAY CLASSICAL TOUR WITH METEORA (April

famous for its acoustics) and then on to Nafplion (short stop). Drive to
Mycenae where you visit the
archaeological site, then depart for Olympia through central Peloponnese area

afternoon drive back to Athens passing via Thermopylae (visit) and
